In the decade since September 11, 2001, there has been growing sense of pride in our nation and an increased desire to honor those who willingly serve, putting their lives on the line to protect our precious freedoms.

We seek to honor all those who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces at home or abroad. We also desire to honor those who have served or are serving as Police and Firefighters.

As veterans of past wars reach their twilight years, it is especially fitting and proper that they be recognized and honored for their service by our grateful communities.

This is not a memorial to named wars but to warriors. It is a memorial to honor the families who have sacrificed loss or separation from loved ones.

This Veterans Memorial provides a tangible opportunity for donors and participants to show their patriotism and thanks to those who have "borne the battle" and served with distinction.
